Manchester United are edging closer to ending their search for a striker after reaching an agreement with Atalanta to sign Rasmus Hojlund.
Following lengthy discussions with the Italian club, United have reached an agreement to sign the 20-year-old for an overall package worth £72million.
The Reds have agreed to pay £64m up front and an additional £8m in add-ons. It is an eye-watering fee for a youngster who plundered 10 goals in 34 appearances for Atalanta last season.
However, United believe that he is a star in the making and has the potential to grow under Erik ten Hag. Competing in a market where elite-level strikers are hard to come by, United have selected Hojlund as their chosen one, meaning he will be under pressure, should his move to Old Trafford go through without any last-minute snags, to deliver the goods.
