Chinese Grand Prix pencilled in as F1 unveils record-breaking 24-race calendar for 2023

F1 has unveiled a 24-race calendar for the 2023 season, which will kick off in Bahrain on March 5.China, which hasn’t hosted a race since 2019 due to the pandemic, has been given a provisional spot of April 16 on the calendar as doubts persist over the level of the country’s Covid restrictions.The British Grand Prix at Silverstone will be held over the weekend of July 9 while the Belgium Grand Prix at Spa has been brought forward a month and will now take place before the summer break.

That race will be staged on a Saturday night US time, in the early hours of the morning in Europe. Abu Dhabi will once again stage the season finale on November 26.There is no place on the schedule for South Africa, although talks are continuing over a race at Kyalami in 2024.
