Children's author shot in head by motorbike gunman dies as mum pays tribute

A children's author and parish councillor who was shot during a daytime attack outside his home by a motorbike gunman has died, local leaders have said.

Named locally as James Nash, 42, the author suffered serious head injuries during the daytime attack in the Hampshire village of Upper Enham on Wednesday afternoon.

The alleged shooter, named by Upper Enham villagers as Alex Sartain, fled on a motorbike before crashing and dying. According to the Andover Advertiser, the victim's mum Gillian Nash said on Friday: "Very sadly I have to tell you that James Nash died of his brutal injuries today. "His father, his sister and I are in a total state of shock and grief. "We have lost a beautiful, talented son and brother and I know all who knew
