Voters in Cheshire East have had their say in the 2023 local elections. All 82 seats were up for grabs in the wards including Alderley Edge, Alsager, Audlem, Bollington, Brereton Rural, Broken Cross and Upton, Bunbury, Chelford, Congleton East, Congleton West, Crewe Central, Crewe East, Crewe North, Crewe South, Crewe St Barnabas, Crewe West, Dane Valley and Disley.
There were also elections for wards including Gawsworth, Handforth, Haslington, High Legh, Knutsford, Leighton, Macclesfield Central, Macclesfield East, Macclesfield Hurdsfield, Macclesfield South, Macclesfield Tytherington, Macclesfield West and Ivy, Middlewich, Mobberley, Nantwich North and West, Nantwich South and Stapeley, Odd Rode, Poynton East and Pott Shrigley, Poynton West and Adlington and Prestbury. READ MORE: Join the FREE Manchester Evening News WhatsApp community And seats were also available for Sandbach Elworth, Sandbach Ettiley Heath and Wheelock, Sandbach Heath and East, Sandbach Town, Shavington, Sutton , Willaston and Rope ,Wilmslow Dean Row, Wilmslow East, Wilmslow Lacey Green, Wilmslow West and Chorley, Wistaston,Wrenbury and Wybunbury.
Cheshire East Borough Council is a unitary authority, having the powers of a non-metropolitan county and district council combined.
Ahead of the election, no party was in overall control of the council but it was led by Labour's Sam Corcoran after the party came to an agreement with independent councillors.
