Cheryl 'hires bodyguards' after stalker leaves 'disturbing' messages outside theatre
ok.co.ukCheryl is thought to have beefed up her security team and hired bodyguards after a stalker left "disgusting and disturbing messages" outside the London theatre at which she is currently performing.The 39 year old former Girls Aloud star is currently starring in 2:22 A Ghost Story at the Lyric Theatre in London's West End, which is where the individual has reportedly been leaving the notes.
It's believed that Cheryl has often had to deal with over-zealous fans throughout her two decades in showbiz, and her security team are not taking any chances with the new threats.
A source said: "There’s at least one nutter who has been sending some pretty disgusting and disturbing messages. "She [Cheryl] hasn’t been shown them but they’re included with the flowers people leave after performances," they continued to The Sun. "Cheryl has enough to think about on stage to a packed theatre each night without having to think about that too, but steps have been taken to ramp up security and put her mind at rest." The source went on to say that Cheryl's minders are "all over the venue communicating via radios and closely monitoring her movements and escorting her everywhere she goes." Cheryl is said to be using both her own security and that provided by the theatre, and she is escorted in and out of the venue by burly bodyguards each time she goes to perform.
OK! has contacted Cheryl's representatives for comment. She plays Jenny in 2:22 A Ghost Story, who is left terrified as she believes the new house she's bought with her husband is haunted.
