Chelsea have identified West Ham midfielder Declan Rice as a potential replacement for N’Golo Kante if the Frenchman leaves Stamford Bridge.
Kante, 29, has developed into one of the finest holding midfielders in European football over the last five years, playing a crucial role in Premier League title triumphs for both Chelsea and Leicester.
It is believed he is now attracting attention from Real Madrid, who are expected to hand Zinedine Zidane a transfer warchest when the summer window eventually opens.
And although Kante is not pushing for a move away from the club right now, The Mirror are reporting that Blues officials regard Rice as the perfect replacement should he head to Spain.
