Chelsea are closing in on tying Tino Anjorin down to a new contract at the club. However, the knock-on effect could see Manchester United take the lead in the race for Birmingham wonderkid Jude Bellingham.
The Blues have been desperate for Anjorin to sign a new deal with his current terms expiring in the summer of 2021. But the 18-year-old has held reservations over his route to the first-team, keeping him from putting pen to paper.
That fear was amplified when Chelsea became seriously interested in 16-year-old Bellingham. The teenager is regarded as a generational talent and is being courted by United.
But his arrival at Stamford Bridge would put a major stumbling block on Anjorin's development with the two playing in the same position.
