Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has given an update on Hakim Ziyech’s injury ahead of their Premier League opener against Brighton.
The Blues forward, who arrived this summer after signing off on a move from Ajax for £38m in February, had been impressing fans in training.
But the Moroccan suffered a blow in pre-season, picking up an ankle injury just 10 minutes into his first game for the Stamford Bridge.
He came on in the second half but Lampard was forced to pull the forward off, which was expected to stop him making a Premier League debut on the opening.
