An iPhone which was left charging on a bed has caused a fire which has devastated a family and destroyed their home. The Mangan family have been forced to leave their recently refurbished home after the blaze started in their 11-year-old daughter’s bedroom.
Most of the daughter’s belongings were lost in the fire, which caused the ceiling to cave in, and extensive damage to the downstairs kitchen.
Dad, Steven Mangan, has issued a warning to families after discovering the cause of the fire was a charging mobile, fearing how fatal the fire could have been.
Steven, from Darndale in Dublin, urged people to never leave things plugged in overnight. He told Dublin Live : “Never leave anything plugged in overnight.
