A dad-of-four sank 30 pints of lager a day whilst cultivating a cannabis farm at his family home in Wigan. Gareth Chapman, 37, was drinking 210 cans of beer a week when he agreed to turn his loft into a marijuana farm on behalf of a local drug dealer.
The window cleaner, from Atherton, was busted when officers raided his property following a tip off and found 40 cannabis plants worth nearly £30,000. Since his arrest, Chapman is said to have cut down his drinking to 'only' 28 cans - in a single session on just one day of the week.
Chapman, of Leigh Road, Atherton, was jailed for 30 months after he admitted producing cannabis, possessing Class B and Class A drugs with intent to supply and having a noxious substance.
