Police have issued an urgent CCTV appeal to identify a woman, days after search teams were called out to the Bridgewater Canal in Salford.

Officers want to identify the female following a report for the concern of her welfare on Woden Street Bridge in Salford on Sunday night (September 4).

The force has now released CCTV images of the red haired female, thought to be in her late teens, as they appeal for information in identifying her.

Footage shows a female, believed to be her, leaving Pomona Strand and walking along Trafford Road towards Salford Quays. The M.E.N reported how a huge emergency services presence were called to Woden Street, across the river from Pamona Wharf and St George's Island - just before midnight on Sunday evening.
