Huge police presence and air ambulance called as road taped off for hours after 'serious crash'

Police have taped off a road in Tameside following a 'serious collision'. Emergency services were called to the scene of the crash in Denton Road, Audenshaw, this afternoon.

The road has been closed between the junctions with Shepley Road and Stanhope Street for several hours. Images from the scene show a police officer taking photographs within the cordoned off stretch of road.

Bus services have also been diverted as a result. A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: “Emergency services are currently responding to a serious collision on Denton Road in the Audenshaw area of Tameside.
