Carole Baskin
Carole Baskin (born June 6, 1961) is an American animal rights activist and owner of Big Cat Rescue, a non-profit animal sanctuary based near Tampa, Florida. Baskin drew public attention when she was featured in the 2020 Netflix documentary series Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness about Oklahoma-based private zoo operator known as Joe Exotic. The Netflix series follows both Baskin and Joe Exotic, filming their ongoing and escalating feuds over exotic animals in private zoos. Following the series' release, Baskin has been targeted by Internet memes related to the disappearance of Don Lewis, her second husband.

etonline.comKate McKinnon's Carole Baskin project has received a straight-to-series order at NBC. The network announced the news on Tuesday, sharing that the limited series — in which McKinnon will star as Baskin — will roll out across NBCU’s scripted entertainment platforms, NBC, Peacock and USA.
The series is adapted from the Wondery podcast McKinnon will executive produce along with Wondery’s Hernan Lopez, Marshall Lewy and Aaron Hart.
Etan Frankel () will write. (working title) is based on true events following big cat enthusiast Baskin, who sets out to shut down Joe «Exotic» Schreibvogel's venture after learning he is breeding and using his big cats for profit.
