Campaigners fighting against Sandyhills car park plan launch fundraiser
dailyrecord.co.ukCampaigners fighting plans to expand a car park at a Stewartry beauty spot have launched a fundraising campaign. More than 450 objections have been lodged against Gillespie Leisure Ltd’s proposal to add nearly 200 parking bays at Sandyhills Bay Holiday Park.
The Save Sandyhills group is looking for financial help in a bid to secure the legal expertise they need in their efforts to stop what they describe as the “inappropriate development” of the site.
Objectors have raised concerns about the impact the development would have on the environment and landscape as well as loss of amenity and potential road safety issues.
A meeting held by Colvend and Southwick Community Council was attended by more than 100 people, with the minutes recognising the “overwhelming strength of opposition” to the proposal.
