Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, could be added to the Counsellors of State to help the Queen in slimming down the monarchy, an expert has claimed. The 74 year old, whose husband reportedly offered Prince Harry an "olive branch", could be added earlier as the heir apparent’s spouse instead of having non-working royals removed.

According to Gertrude Daly, host of Gert's Royal podcast, the move could mean Kate Middleton could be added earlier as well.

By law, the Counsellors of State include the Sovereign's spouse and the next four people in the line of succession who are over the age of 21.
