Caledonia Gladiators test new lottery-funded basketball hoops at East Kilbride primary

It was a slam dunk for Long Calderwood Primary at the weekend as stars of East Kilbride's Caledonia Gladiators joined the local community in celebrating new sports equipment for the school.Hundreds of youngsters enjoyed free taster sessions with the basketball players during an open day at the pitch which, thanks to National Lottery Community funding, now has two new nine-a-side goals and four new basketball hoops.The investment followed a consultation by the parent council and Space to Play campaigner and Councillor Kirsten Robb which found that local people wanted more things for young people to do.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.
