Hamilton hero Kyle MacDonald was delighted to teach hometown team East Kilbride a lesson - as he revealed his double was his first since high school.The 23-year-old midfielder netted from the penalty spot and grabbed the final goal of a 5-2 triumph at K-Park, which fired holders Hamilton into the quarter-finals of the SPFL Trust Trophy and sent the Lowland League leaders crashing out.Strikes from Joel Mumbongo, Connor Murray and an own goal from Aron Arnott also saw off Kilby, who netted through fine finishes from Chris McGowan and Nathan Flangan in either half.League One Accies are on an impressive 16-game unbeaten run and MacDonald admits grabbing the latest win on local turf in front of his family made their cup progress extra-special.The former Calderglen High School pupil beamed: "I’m very happy with the two goals as that is the first time that has ever happened.“I have not scored a double since I played for the school team.“My family are all from East Kilbride and they were all here to see it as well so that was special.“It was a good day and I’m so pleased to get a couple - that is more than I scored in the whole of last season.“It does make it a bit more special because I am a local boy.“When the draw was made I was hoping for East Kilbride as they are my local team."It was a good day all round and to score five goals was really pleasing.“We want to keep this unbeaten run going for as long as we can.
