Buses were forced to divert at Droylsden after objects were thrown at them on Monday evening (6 June). The incident occurred on the 216 bus route from Ashton-under-Lyne to Manchester at a bus stop in Clayton.
Vandals threw bricks at the bus windows, which forced the driver to divert at Droylsden to the 219 bus route from Ashton-under-Lyne to Manchester, until Great Ancoats Street in Ancoats. The news comes days after a 15-year-old girl was arrested in connection with a spate of criminal damage on buses in Stockport.
Buses travelling between Stockport town centre and the Brinnington estate were targeted between May 10 and May 17 this year.
