A bus has burst into flames on a busy Scots road bringing traffic to a halt. Emergency services raced to the fire on Edinburgh City Bypass shortly after 10:30am on Tuesday, January 18.
The incident is ongoing heading at Millerhill and has now forced the closure of the A720 heading westbound. At least one fire crew is tackling the blaze, with cops also in attendance this morning.
Traffic is at a standstill with motorists being urged to find an alternative route. Dramatic footage from the scene shows smoke billowing from a Lothian Buses vehicle on the busy route.It's understood no one has been injured in the fire.A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We were made aware of a bus on fire on the A720 Edinburgh City Bypass near the Millerhill Junction around 10.30am on Tuesday, 18 January."There are no reported injuries and the road is currently closed, with emergency services at the scene."Lothian Buses and Scottish Fire and Rescue Service have been contacted for comment.
