Emergency crews have raced to a fire at a Scots home today.Worried local residents can be seen looking on at the blaze on Watters Crescent in Lochgelly on Thursday, February 3.Residents have been evacuated in the wake of the fire after the alarm was first raised at around 2:30pm.
Four fire crews were called to the scene where they remain as they battle to bring the blaze under control. A photo, shared by Fifejammer locations Facebook page, shows smoke billowing from the roof of a terraced house in the Fife town.A number of residents were snapped watching as flames poured from the house into the sky above.It's not yet known what caused the blaze but it's understood no one has been injured in the inferno.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Officers were called around 2.30pm on Thursday, 3 February to a report of a fire at an address Watters Crescent, in the Lochgelly area of Fife."Emergency services remain at the scene and the surround buildings have been evacuated."A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 2.25pm on Thursday, February 3 to reports of smoke issuing from a dwelling on Watters Crescent, Lochgelly.“Operations Control mobilised three fire appliances to the scene where a fire was affecting the roof of a building.“There are no reported casualties at this time and crews are currently still at the scene.”
