Brookside actress Sylvie Gatrill has died after a devastating battle with cancer.The tragic news was publicly confirmed by friends who knew Sylvia from the acting community.Writer of the recent BBC drama The Responder in which Sylvie appeared, Tony Schumacher, posted: "So sorry to hear of the passing of the quite brilliant Sylvie Gatrill.
Such a talented actress who was so important in helping set the tone of #TheResponder. My thoughts are with her family. #RIP."Sylvie was known for playing Mrs Cullen in Bread and famously starring in Brookside.In 2017, she also featured in Little Boy Blue, which was about the murder of 11-year-old Rhys Jones.Sylvie also ran a training and talent agency called Allstars Casting, which represented actors, extras and models from Liverpool.
Many of its alumni have posted tributes to the actress on social media after the news of her death was announced.Her Bread co-star Tony Nyland wrote: "I've just heard the sad news that the lovely, talented Sylvie Gatrill has died.
Sylvie and me had a great time playing Edith and Hesketh Cullen in the BBC series "Bread." Deepest condolences to her family and friends."A J Jones also said: "Such a special lady, Taught so many kids from our city at her agency, Allstars.
