Brits enjoy midnight pints as pubs open indoors and others hit the gym as lockdown eases

Thirsty Brits sheltering from the rain were seen taking advantage of lockdown easing with pubs opening their doors once again at the stroke of midnight.

And fitness enthusiasts were also pictured enjoying a late-night training session with indoor exercise back on. From today a raft of restrictions aimed at tackling the spread of coronavirus have been lifted following months of lockdown.

Among the changes many venues, that were limited to serving customers outdoors, can now welcome punters back inside after months of keeping their doors closed.

But many of the nation's boozers were not as busy as in scenes that were captured in April when lines of people waited for the stroke of midnight as beer gardens re-opened.
