The winner of Britain's Got Talent 2023 has been announced as Viggo Venn, with Lillianna Clifton coming in second place and Cillian O'Connor in third.The champion, who was crowned in tonight's live TV final on ITV will go on to perform in front of King Charles, and other members of the royal family at the Royal Variety Performance on November 30 2023.
Tonight's show saw the final ten acts; Musa Motha, Amy Lou, Viggo Venn, Olivia Lynes, Ghetto Kids, Travis George, Malakai Bayoh, Duo Odyssey, Cillian O'Connor, and Lillianna Clifton, go head-to-head to be crowned series champ.
But only one could be successful, with Viggo receiving the most public votes and being crowned champ. Viewers were quick to take to Twitter to express their shock at Viggo's win, as one wrote: "congratulations to him but l didn’t see this coming [three laughing emojis] all the same it’s his lucky day." "I am shocked and laughed when he won" added another, while a third said: "Yes Viggo!!!!
What an amazing winner [three clapping emoji]" Others pondered what this means for the Royal Variety, as one quipped: "Does this mean Charles and camilla will be wearing a high vis" while another joked: "Can’t wait to see Charles and Camilla’s faces when he comes on!" Despite the show being hit by accusations of a "fix" earlier this week, the finalists all appeared to be overjoyed as they took to the stage for their final performances.This series of BGT marked the first since former judge David Walliams' departure, with former Strictly judge Bruno Tonioli taking over the role.
