Brian Cox has been in the headlines recently for comments he made about Johnny Depp and now he is walking those back.
The 75-year-old Succession actor, who just released his memoir “Putting the Rabbit in the Hat,” previously said that he turned down a role in Pirates of the Caribbean because of his negative view of Johnny. “Another thing with [Pirates of the Caribbean] is that it’s very much the ‘Johnny Depp as Jack Sparrow’ show, and Depp, personable though I’m sure he is, is so overblown, so overrated,” he wrote in the book.
In a new interview with Yahoo, Brian said he’s heard the response from Johnny‘s “vociferous” fans and he thinks “it’s great that he’s got that loyalty.” Click inside to check out the rest of the comments… Brian added, “What certain people accused me of was my lack of respect, and I really do not disrespect anybody involved in this profession because I know how difficult it is.
Now, I may have reservations about their talent, but I certainly don’t disrespect them. And my reservations about Johnny Depp are minimal — absolutely minimal.
