BREAKING: Man dies after house fire

A man has died after a fire broke out in a home in Oldham. The blaze broke out at a property on Eldon Street at around 10.20am on Sunday (July 16).

Police officers, fire crews and paramedics rushed to the scene. Tragically, a man - aged in his 50s - was pronounced dead. An investigation into the incident is ongoing. In a statement, a Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: "At around 10.20am on Sunday 16 July 2023, officers responded to reports of a fire at an address in Eldon Street, Oldham. "Despite the best efforts of emergency services, a man in his 50s sadly died.
