A man has been charged with attempted murder after a fire at a home in Salford. The blaze ripped through the property on Montonmill Gardens at around 5.15am on Tuesday morning (October 22).
A woman - aged in her 50s - was taken to hospital from the scene. After the fire was extinguished, an investigation was launched by both Greater Manchester Police and the Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service.
A police spokesperson said the fire was being treated as a suspected arson attack. The 62-year-old has been remanded into custody, GMP said. He is due to appear at Manchester and Salford Magistrates' Court today (October 25).
