A man has been charged with attempted murder following an alleged assault in Rochdale. A man was reportedly injured in the incident on Holmes Street on Friday (November 8).
Emergency crews were called to the scene just before 12.30pm. Matthew Wardle, of Holmes Street, has now been charged with attempted murder, a spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said.
The 33-year-old has been remanded into custody. READ NEXT: Devastated sister of mum-of-four killed in house fire pays tribute According to official court documents, Mr Wardle was due to appear at Manchester and Salford Magistrates' Court last Monday (November 11).
He is next due to appear at Minshull Street Crown Court on December 16, police confirmed. In a statement, a GMP spokesperson said: "A man has been charged with attempted murder following an incident in Rochdale on November 8.
