Passengers on board a car were taken to hospital after a police vehicle crashed into their motor. Among the injured is a girl who went to hospital with an arm injury.
The crash on the A669 Middleton Road in Chadderton, Oldham, prompted a significant response by the emergency services, with more police patrols and paramedics summoned to the scene. The road was closed in both directions following the smash at around 2.30pm when a liveried police patrol car smashed into the rear of a red saloon car.
Both cars suffered significant damage in the shunt. The driver of the red saloon suffered only minor injuries but their passengers were more seriously hurt and had to be taken to hospital.
Among the passengers was a girl who suffered an arm injury. None of the passengers suffered life-threatening in injuries, a spokesman for Greater Manchester Police confirmed.
