Boy, 7, killed in hit and run as cops search for driver who left scene

A seven-year-old boy had been killed in a hit and run with police searching for a driver who left the scene before emergency services arrived.

The crash happened at around 5.35pm in Folkestone, Kent on Wednesday, December 6, on the A259 Sandgate Esplanade near its junction with Prospect Road.

It involved two vehicles, an unidentified car or van and a red Citroen car. Emergency services raced to the incident but the child was tragically pronounced dead at the scene, the Mirror reports.

His next of kin have been informed.
