Two people stabbed a 14-year-old boy multiple times before 'running off into a park' near Greater Manchester. Detectives are making a direct appeal for people to 'start talking' after the attack left the victim with serious injuries.

Officers were called out to Pennine Drive, in St Helens, at around 10.15pm on Monday night (September 2). Police received reports that the boy had been stabbed multiple times by two male offenders.

The pair reportedly fled on foot to the nearby Gaskell Park. The victim was taken to hospital, where he remains in a serious but stable condition this morning (Tuesday).
