The parents of an 11 year old boy have withdrawn him from school, concerned about the lengthy and treacherous journey he'd have to undertake each day.Brandon Hall had his sights set on Droylsden Academy in Tameside to follow in his older brother Dylan's footsteps.
However, his family was stunned when Brandon was assigned to attend Denton Community College instead. This would mean Brandon would have to face a perilous hour-long trek along some of Greater Manchester's busiest roads, as highlighted by his father, James Hall.
With James working at Manchester Royal Infirmary and Brandon's mother Stacey employed as a carer, their professional commitments make taking their son to school impossible.
Consequently, faced with no alternative but to walk or brave public transport, the family has made the tough choice to pull Brandon out of Denton. "We applied for a place at Droylsden last year within the deadline," dad James said. "Denton was never one of the options.", reports the Manchester Evening News.
