Borussia Monchengladbach star Marcus Thuram celebrated his first goal against Union Berlin by taking a knee as protests continue in the US following the death of George Floyd.
Thuram is the latest in a string of stars from the sporting world to join the protests as part of the Black Lives Matter movement.
The demonstrations were sparked by the death of black Minneapolis, Minnesota resident Floyd on Monday. As he was arrested and handcuffed, a white policeman, Derek Chauvin, pinned Floyd's neck to the ground with his knee.
Floyd pleaded that he could not breathe but Chauvin continued and Floyd died some time after the incident. Chauvin has since been charged with third-degree murder.
