It has been introduced after clubs voted in favour of the move following a hectic fixture schedule and an increase in injuries experienced.
But in a difference between the divisions across the EFL, clubs in the Championship can name up to nine substitutes in their matchday squads.
Teams in League One and League Two meanwhile, can only name up to seven substitutes. And though welcoming the changes made, Wanderers head coach Evatt does not understand the differences between the divisions and believes the bench size of nine should have been implemented across the board.
