The first Bolton Marathon in decades has been postponed due to the coronavirus crisis. The event was resurrected by fitness enthusiast Rich Smith and was set to take place on May 16 and 17 of this year.
This would have been the first time Bolton has hosted a marathon since 1987 and the weekend was also set to include a 10km race and a family fun run.
Mr Smith revealed the tough decision in a statement released this morning (Thursday), explaining that he was working on finding a new date for the event.
