Elections for Bolton Council are less than a month away with 21 of the 60 seats in the borough’s wards up for grabs in the poll.
Residents are voting to elect a representative in each of the borough’s 20 wards on polling day on Thursday, May 2. There will also be an a second councillor chosen in the Horwich North ward where there is a vacancy after the resignation of Craig Rotheram last month due to ill health.
A total of 118 candidates in total are standing for councillor positions in each of the wards which make up the town. The council is currently under no overall control but Labour have 28 of the 60 seats and currently lead the authority.
The Conservatives have 15 seats, Liberal Democrats seven, Horwich & Blackrod have five members and Farnworth & Kearsley First three.
