A young man's body has been pulled from a pond at Hampstead Heath. Police are investigating the discovery at the north London beauty-spot known for its hilly walks.
Metropolitan Police said the man was believed to have been aged in his twenties. The force said the death is not being treated as suspicious and the victim was pulled out of the water by emergency services and declared dead at the scene.
His body was found in the lake opposite the mixed bathing ponds, and not one of the three ponds at the Heath used by bathers.
A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: "A body was recovered from Lake 2 of Hampstead Heath, off East Heath Road, at around 10.30am. "The body is believed to be that of a man, aged in his 20s.
