People all over the Western world have been protesting the death of George Floyd while in police custody this year, not long after the United States federal government, including many state governments, began reopening businesses across the country. Despite the fact some social media users have criticized celebrities for urging people to stay at home, and then going on to participate in mass protests involving large numbers of people, fans were thrilled to see Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas out supporting the Black Lives Matter protests.

BTS and their record label, Big Hit Entertainment, have donated $1 million to Black Lives Matter. The donation was first reported on Saturday by Variety, who said the money was transferred earlier this week.The Hollywood Reporter has reached out to BTS' representatives for comment.
