However, it was the colour of the Bestie hitmaker’s skin which caused concern among her 17 million followers, with many accusing the white rapper of darkening her skin purposefully. “It’s pathetic when you can’t rock your own skin,” one person commented, while another wrote: “Ma’am… please act your race.” “Okay this is blackfishing now for sure,” a third stated in the comments on the video, referencing a term used when describing the use of make-up to appear black.
