Ben Shephard admits leaving ‘on-screen wife’ Kate Garraway at GMB was 'hardest decision'
ok.co.ukBen Shephard has admitted that leaving Good Morning Britain for This Morning was a tough choice, especially because of his close bond with co-host Kate Garraway.
The two have been a popular pair on the morning show, and Ben was there for Kate when her husband Derek Draper was battling long-term effects of Covid-19.They were also together on the show when Kate returned to work after her husband's tragic passing at 56 in January.
On Friday, ITV announced that Ben will be joining Cat Deeley as a permanent host of This Morning, taking over from Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby who left last year.
Starting next month, the new duo will present the daytime show from Monday to Thursday, while Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary will take over on Fridays.
