Strictly Come Dancing fans rushed to social media to congratulate Chris McCausland and Dianne Buswell as they made history by winning the 2024 series.

The pair came bottom of the overall leaderboard at the end of the final on Saturday night (December 14) but it didn't matter as the comedian, who is Strictly's first-ever blind contestant, and his professional partner got the overwhelming backing of the public.

Chris and Dianne beat off stiff competition from their fellow finalists - Tasha Ghouri and Aljaz Skorjanec, Sarah Hadland and Vito Coppola and JB Gill and Lauren Oakley - on the spectacular night.
