Strictly Come Dancing fans were left confused during the grand final as two stars were missing as the winners were crowned. The latest run of the BBC One dance contest came to an end on Saturday night (December 14).

Comedian Chris McCausland and professional dancer Dianne Buswell lifted the coveted Glitterball trophy during the final of the BBC One dance contest following a public vote as the hit dance show celebrated 20 years on screen this year.

Chris, who made history as Strictly's first blind winner, and Dianne beat Miranda actress Sarah Hadland and partner Vito Coppola, Love Island star Tasha Ghouri and dancer Aljaz Skorjanec and JLS singer JB Gill and partner Lauren Oakley to be crowned the 2024 champions. However, it didn't take fans long to spot Nick Knowles and Paul Merson were both missing from the live final. Instead, the DIY SOS host and the former footballer were replaced by images held aloft during the final group performance as they were unable to make appearances.
