BBC Strictly Come Dancing fans blast 'absolute crime' after JB Gill's 'breakthrough' performance

Strictly Come Dancing fans were quick to blast what they described as a 'crime' while simultaneously praising JB Gill's 'breakthrough'.

The JLS star faced a tricky week as not only was he learning a new routine but he also had a new partner. Amy Dowden wasn't able to rehearse with JB this week and therefore didn't before during the latest live show on Saturday night (November 2) after she fell ill following last weekend's Halloween special, forcing her to miss the last results show.

Lauren Oakley, who does not have a celebrity pairing on this year's series of the BBC One dance competition, instead stepped in to rehearse with JB before joining him to perform the live couple's choice routine to a Bruno Mars medley during Strictly's first-ever 'Icons Week'. Turning to Amy, Claudia asked: "You three did this together this week, didn’t you?" to which the she replied: "Yeah, it’s been a real dream team, even to the point where Lauren put in on chat: ‘J, do you want a coffee?’ To which I replied: 'Yes, you’ll have a vanilla latte.'" Speaking after their performance and the judges' comments, JB said: "Obviously it's a new partnership, but I've been able to focus on the dancing and just do Amy proud." Lauren added: "I just wanted to make Amy proud and I hope we did.
