After eight years, the BBC brought Outnumbered back for a Christmas special on Boxing Day. As fans of the show were chomping at the bit to see what the kids look like all grown up, households around Britain settled down ready to be reunited with the Brockman family.

The special saw parents Sue and Pete in a new home as they downsized once all of the children moved out. Speaking of their children, Jake is now a father himself and admits to his parents that he's struggling to cope with newfound parenthood.

In true British sitcom fashion, the reunion didn't quite go as planned as family friend Jane decided to invite herself to the family Christmas dinner, Jake was having arguments with his girlfriend Rani, Ben was battling with public transport, and Karen wanted to leave yet another job after blaming her co-workers for incompetence...

Again. While the Christmas special dealt with the difficult storyline of Pete's character being diagnosed with prostate cancer, fans were impressed with the development of one character in particular - Karen Brockman.
