Days after the final-ever episode of the BBC One sitcom aired on Christmas Day, it's been revealed Ruth Jones will reprise the famous role in a special move away from Barry and Essex, where the beloved show has been set for the past 17 years.
Ruth will slip back into Nessa's shoes to read Radio 4's Shipping Forecast as the programme celebrates its centenary on the BBC on New Year's Day (Wednesday, January 1).
Julie Hesmondhalgh, Stephen Fry, Line Of Duty's Adrian Dunbar and sailor Dame Ellen MacArthur are also among those marking the first broadcast of the Met Office's forecast on the BBC in October 1925.
