THE BBC is ‘desperate’ for a second series of Normal People and keen to start production ASAP to ‘strike while the iron is hot’.
The adaptation of Sally Rooney's book has been a smash hit for the corporation, closing in on almost 30 million views. So it's not surprising bosses are desperate for a second series to capitalize on the first season's success.
The series follows the turbulent relationship between Connell (Paul Mescal) and Marianne (Daisy Edgar-Jones) and features plenty of steamy sex scenes between the pair.
An insider told The Mirror: "The BBC are desperate to get going on series two. The viewing numbers are huge and they want more of the same.
