BBC Breakfast star targeted by cruel appearance jibe as she responds minutes into live show

A BBC Breakfast presenter brushed off a snide remark about her wardrobe choices, with a swarm of the show's supporters coming to her aid.

Luxmy Gopal appeared on this morning's episode (December 1) alongside co-host Ben Thompson from the iconic red sofa. The duo subtly tipped their hats to the advent of December, with Ben wearing a festively coloured tie and Luxmy in a sumptuous pleated purple dress.

However, not long into the programme, Luxmy took to her social media to reveal she had been the target of a negative comment relating to her dress.

She shared that somebody had compared her ensemble to "the Quality Street purple one." In a message posted to X, formerly known as Twitter, she penned: "Good morning from me and Ben Thompson on BBC Breakfast.
