On BBC Breakfast's Tuesday show, Sally Nugent took a moment to introduce an "really important" update from her colleague. "Carol (Kirkwood) has got a really important weather forecast for us right now because some of you might be opening your curtains this morning and seeing snow.

Good morning everyone. The snow isn't everywhere but quite a lot of us are seeing it this morning."Scots star Carol presented viewers with photographic evidence of the wintry scenes shared by those already witnessing the snowfall.Places like Nottinghamshire were blanketed with up to 12cm of snow; freezing temperatures gripped numerous locales, dipping to minus nine degrees in parts of Scotland.
Carol also pointed out the swathes of the UK covered by yellow snow and ice warnings, cautioning: "It could lead to some disruption so it's worth checking before you head out," and highlighting the pervasive chill, "Wherever you are today it's going to be cold and it will be even colder in the north." Co-presenter Jon Kay joined in with a call-out to the audience: "We'd love to see photos if you've got snow where you are this morning."The broadcast also had its lighter moments – Sally found herself blushing during a discussion about the risqué Denton Calendar Boys.
