BBC Breakfast hosts halt live broadcast for 'breaking news' announcement

BBC Breakfast was interrupted on Wednesday to bring viewers some breaking news. Sally Nugent began: "Good morning, it is Wednesday 27th November.

A ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah has begun potentially ending months of conflict in Lebanon." Jon Kay continued: "This agreement, which was announced by US President Joe Biden last night, came into effect at 4am local time today, which was about two o'clock here in the UK." Sally added: "The deal involves Hezbollah fighters moving around 20 miles from the Israeli border north of the Litani River." Jon explained: "Then Israeli troops will gradually pull out of the country which they invaded two months ago in response to a year of rocket attacks from Hezbollah were based in the south of Lebanon," reports the Express.
