Bayern Munich legend Lothar Matthaus has suggested that the club should attempt to re-sign Thiago Alcantara from Liverpool.
Huge things were expected of the Spanish midfielder when he was signed by the Reds for a fee of £27m in the summer. But so far things have not worked out for the playmaker, who initially struggled with injury issues and has since been criticised for his performances in a Liverpool shirt.
Thiago bid an emotional farewell to Bayern in September, and their CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge recounted how he broke down in tears when he left.
