x-rated Winnie the Pooh film shocked audiences for its graphic violence and adult themes in a recent trailer. It seems no beloved childhood icon is safe from being deconstructed and regurgitated back out to audiences as a brooding reimagining. Most of the details of the Barney reboot are being kept under wraps, but Black Panther star Daniel Kaluuya has let some interesting insights slip. He’s actually been working on the project for years and now its full steam ahead for the film. The film was first teased back in 2019 but the project went dark soon after. In a new interview with Entertainment Weekly, Daniel Kaluuya, also known for Get Out, spoke of his newly formed production company 59% and how he was now full steam ahead on the film.Production company 59% will be producing the Barney remake, alongside Valparaiso Pictures and Mattel.Daniel explained: “My last number of films have been so aligned to kind of what I stand for as a man.“But there are a whole lot of things that I do as a man.

I love kids’ films."How did everyone get into films? Watching kids’ films. I don’t want to restrict myself to the limitations of what I’m perceived as.”The original show, Barney’s Great Adventure, followed the title character along with three children named Cody, Abby and Marcella as they learned educational life lessons through songs, dances and a sweet optimistic spirit.

It seems the essence of that will be kept in the reboot, but deconstructed and re-contextualised for a modern audience. Daniel said: “Barney taught us, 'I love you, you love me.

Won't you say you love me too?' That's one of the first songs I remember, and what happens when that isn't true? I thought that was really heartbreaking.“I have no idea why but it feels like that.
